With his clinical and scientific work Samir Prohić, Dr.Sc.Dr., specialized in oral surgery, merely continues what is a vibrant and successful tradition of families Prohić and Hadžihasanović in dental and medical fields.
It was back in 1930 when Dr. Prohić's grandfather Husejin Hažihasanović obtained a degree at the dentistry school.
Grandfather Husejin came to Sarajevo in 1942, where he continued his very fruitful career in dentistry. He is, from today’s perspective, considered to be a pioneer in dentistry field.
Husejin Hadžihasanović was very well respected at his time and has left a solid and essential legacy in the dentistry field in Sarajevo and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
For decades, love and passion for dentistry were transferred from generation to generation, first on Samir’s mother, dr. Adila Hadžihasanović obtained a degree at the Faculty of Dentist Medicine in Sarajevo, where she specialized in general dentistry.
Samir’s father, Prim. His father is a well-respected pediatrician considered by many citizens of Sarajevo as a veteran of pediatric service whose devotion towards science and patients was and continues to be a role model for his son’s path in building a successful and respected medical career. Dr. Ismet Prohić had an impact on his professional and personal choices in life as well.
